Heart Valve Disease
The ICHOM Set of Patient-Centered Outcome Measures for Heart Valve Disease results from hard work by a group of leading healthcare providers, researchers, and patient representatives. It represents the outcomes that matter most to people (≥18 years old) with Heart Valve Disease. We urge all providers worldwide to start measuring these meaningful outcomes, which will guide them to improve their care quality.
- Includes Early Mortality, Late Mortality, Valve-related Mortality and All-cause Mortality
- Defined by the EQ-5D-5L questionnaire
- Defined by the Impact on Mental Health & Daily Activities questionnaire (IDCV)
- Includes Aortic/Mitral/Tricuspid valve stenosis and Aortic/Mitral/Tricuspid valve regurgitation
- Includes Angina Pectoris and NYHA functional class
- Includes Stroke (ischemic/hemorrhagic) and Thromboembolic event (non-cerebral)
- Includes Conversion to open-heart surgery, Reoperation for bleeding, Periprocedural myocardial infarction, New permanent pacemaker, Major/minor vascular complications, Low-cardiac output syndrome, Hospital stay, and ICU Stay
- Includes Paravalvular insufficiency and Device migration (only applicable to percutaneous devices)
- Refers to Structural and Non-Structural valve deterioration
